Stress
This piece is about the stress that overcomes a person through time. Time is always running out and stretching thin. I feel stress when I think about the time I have, whether its a deadline, or the future that is rapidly passing. Trying to hold every part of my life together and keep it organized is a struggle that not only continues with time, but is affected by time.
Growing Up With Immigrant Parents
Materials: Wire, Yarn, Wood

Size: 30"x12"x8"
This piece is about the different languages that I used while growing up. I used wire to create the essence of sound waves that we make when speaking. By wrapping colored yarn around the wire, I created a color scheme of yellow and white, the two colors that differ in the three flags of my countries. The two overarching colors also represented the two distinct languages I speak: Spanish and English. With the third color, which is a mix of the two, I portrayed the awkward mix of languages that I began to incorporate into my life as I grew up. My piece shows the overlapping languages I speak while living at home.
